On Monday my group was meant to do our oral 4th but instead we ending up going 2nd. I personally thought we did a really good job but there were moments when one of us would forget what we were going to say. Everything went pretty smooth and we weren't really stressed. So, in other words, I am very happy with the oral present my job did!
Overall, I believe this assignment was a big success! We each had put in an equal amount of work! This is what we did for our Target Market and the 4 p's.
Pricing:
The pricing for our NPI, Animal Welfare League Queensland, is aiming to ensure that AWL will provide the value of the customer’s money. In order to unsure that, advertisements are used such as radio ads during the 90.9 sea fm community switch, WOMF which is a non-profit website that gives comments on the services of shops and a website that will help to unsure that the customers will get the right choice of product that are available, before the purchase of the product. The actual price that was come up with is based on the amount of ads that is going to be aired on the radio station. However depending on when we (AWL) want the ad to be aired, when the radio station airs the ad and the amount of times the ad is to be aired each week, per day, the price will then vary. This is because the cost of a 2 minutes ad on fm 88, (which is a tourist radio station), is played a 20 times and is repeated 10 times in Specified Time slot of 6 am to 6 pm at A$100.00 = A$ 1,000.00 plus GST. However if we use the 90.9 Sea fm Switch board which is non-profit ad, and is an ad which is aired in-between the weather and the traffic report. There are still people listening to ad the but there is no cost involved as to air it, however a form must first be summated and approved by the radio station. Another way to advertise AWL Queensland website and quiz is by using a website called WOMF, which is also a non-profit site; therefore there are no costs involved with this advertising. By using WOMF, this can improve the way people see the AWL in Queensland and would therefore attract more customers to buying a pet from AWL then a regular pet shop.
Place:
To help the AWL Queensland shops to be more noticeable the placing of our ads can be on the Switchboard on Sea Fm 90.9 and the WOMF site. This is because they not only don’t cost but they help get the message out about the AWL. By placing a report on the Switchboard this will help place in to families minds about the AWL as the traffic reports and weather reports are usually in the mornings which are the time where children and families are driving about in their cars or tunning in. Also by placing a comment on the WOMF this will help show people that look through this site, which the services that AWL Queensland provides are beneficial to the customers. This then will help encourage more people to shop at AWL Queensland and provide homes to the cats and dogs that shelter there.
Target Market:
Our marketing strategy is to the ‘Families and Children’ group as our target audience. This is because by aiming at family and children this will help provide some beneficial things to the people that will buy the pets from AWL. Some beneficial things may include, bonding of family and children, teaching children responsibilities, help cure the loneliness of the people, and to help provide the ways to a healthier life/lifestyle. By targeting this group of people we want to find a home where unconditional love may be shared. This will then help support the animals that have been sheltered in the AWL shelters may be able to feel the sense of love. We choose children and family because it can consist of a couple, single parent, grandparent or the typical family two parents and two kid the combination to make a family are endless. Also by aiming at families and children they will mostly be middle income people, therefore they will be able to pay the money needed in supporting the pet and there owners. By aiming at this group of people the life styles which may include: going to the beach, parks for picnic, fitness such as walking, riding, family trips on the road and many more, can not only help benefit the pet but also the family members in an enjoyable lifestyle.
Promotion: The promotion for our product and charity will be radio advertisement. The purpose of the radio advertisement is to raise awareness and get people to take action. We feel that taking this action and paying for an advertisement will get the idea out about he product and once the idea is out we are going to use free forums.
Free forums is were someone can voice their opinion at no cost. We are going to use WOMF a website were people can voice there opinion about products, services or business. WOMF stands for word of mouth forum; this is explaining that our product will be promoted through word of mouth. We will also be using the community switchboards on radio; this is advertising on the radio for free. A positive point to using the switchboard is that is free however a negative is we cannot choose when the radio is advertisement on air. Finally we will try to get a positive story on today tonight or morning shows. This will get awareness on TV to great a large amount of awareness as these are very popular shows. We are going to try and use as many free forums as possible to create awareness and people to take action.
The radio advertisement will be on the morning radio and afternoon when families are listening. We feel that the advertisement will strike peoples awareness and children will here and feel it sounds like a fun idea and try it out on the computer.
In conclusion we feel this will be a good idea to raise awareness and action will be taken.
Product: A product is a good service or idea that is planned, produced and usually offered to the public in some way. The NPI that we are doing is the Animal Welfare League. Based on what the Animal Welfare League do, which is care and look after homeless animals, we decided that the best way to tell people about the Animal Welfare would be by doing an online quiz, to match people up with their ideal pet, posting a page on WOMF and a radio advertisement. We decided that by doing an online quiz, people would be able to find the animal that best suited them and their life style. Once people find which pet in the AWL best suites them, they can make the decision whether or not they will purchase and look after that certain pet.
The main reason we are doing a radio advertisement is to get the word around. We hope that once people hear the ad, they will tell their friends, and their friends will tell other people. By doing this more people will find out about the AWL.
Our last product is posting a page on WOMF. We believe that since in today’s modern era, more people use the internet more then anything else. By adding a page about the AWL we hope people will discover and learn more about what the AWL do.
All of your products (expect the radio advertisement) will have the colour purple in it. This is because this is the main colour that is always used in any of the AWL products. The major message in each of our ads is to make people more aware of what the AWL do. We hope that by doing these three advertisements, it will make people more aware of who the AWL are and what they do.
I am very happy with the way this assignment has turned out. Hopefully my group will get a good mark ^^

This quiz was mainly made by me (since I knew a lot about quizilla) but Angela and Michelle did help me!
Overall Reflection For Week Three!
We had a very interesting week. Our drafts were due to Ms King on the Monday but since my group did have all the drafts completed we had to quickly do then in the lesson (however I was the only one in my group who had their draft done). Another we did was we got together as a group and discussed about what we should talk about and started to practice.
Many things were successful this week since we were able to get everything completed meaning we will be ready for Monday! This is because Michelle and I went into over-drive and just worked! We both worked really well together and fixed a few problems that popped up. This week we also worked out who would be doing what on Monday. I will be talking about the product and doing the conclusion. To be honest I don’t see why we need a conclusion but Angela said we really needed one, so I said I would do the conclusion. Another thing I did this week was make the PowerPoint for Monday. It took me quite a while to make the PowerPoint since I was the only one doing but I did (finally) manage to get it done.
The only improve I think that my group needs to do is manage our time better. I was really disappointed that Michelle and Angela didn’t have their drafts done on the Monday so that meant I had to do another ‘P’ instead of working on the quiz. This meant that I had to do the quiz in my own time which I wasn’t really to happy about.
This week I learnt how to be a teacher! Since Angela and Michelle had no idea how to use Quizilla, I had to show them how. It was really fun since Angela is normally showing me how to do everything. I also learnt that Michelle, Angela and myself can work really well together.Since everyone was working well together we were able to get a lot of work done. I thought Angela and Michelle worked fantastic together. They both worked really hard and when one of them needed a suggestion about something, they involved everyone meaning it was a group contribution to the assignment. I am very pleased with the way everything has turned out.

Overall Reflection For Week Two!
AH! Ms King HELP US!
In the second week of our assignment, my group got suck! We got to the the stage where we had no idea what we were doing! Then Ms King came to the resuce! Ms King explained everything to us and gave us some ideas. After this, we were back on our feet ready to complete this assignment. During this week, my group completed our brainstorming (of our NPI’s) and we decided that the NPI that we would do is the Animal Welfare League in Queensland. AWL is an organisation that takes care and homes about 12,000 stray and abandoned animals on the Gold Coast and nearby areas. My group then decided which person would be doing what as well as completeing the brainstorm for our products.
The products we will be doing are:
- A quiz to help the buyer find their ideal pet
- Radio ads that will raise awareness for pets
- WOMF
This will be a lot of hard work and I believe that my group will have to be super fast to get all these tasks complete. However on a lighter note, my group this week were really successful on a few things. These were brainstorming our ideas, choosing our makerting mix parts and choosing our NPI. These were successful since everyone in the group had contributed in some way. Everyone did something in the brainstorming and another good thing is we all came up with a solution everyone was happy with.
The main thing I learnt this week was about the AWL. At the beginning of this assignment, I had never even heard of the AWL. After doing a bit of reasearch, I dsicovered numerous things. I learnt that the AWL have their own online shop and the AWL (Queensland Website) website had lots of information on the AWL.This week my group way better then we did last week. This week we hardly argue but from time to time we did tend to lose concetration. A part from that, my group performed really well this week.

Overall Reflection For Week One!
Before we could start doing anything on our BFM assignment, we had to choose our groups. I decided that the two people that would be best to work with would be Angela and Michelle. This is because all three of us are very organised people and we like to get good marks, so that means each one of us will put in 100% so we can get an A. The first thing my group did was we came up with some ideal NPI charieties we could use.
Some things that were successful in my group was the fact that all of us came up with some brillant brainstorming ideas. Since Angela, Michelle and myself can up with several different charities, we had to think up ideas that would best suite each charitiy but we still had to keep to the criteria sheet. We came up with heaps of different NPI as well as other non-profit charities. Since I didn’t know a lot about must of the NPI and non- profit charities I did some reasearch on each one to get a better idea on what they did. I then shared this information with Angela and Michelle and this helped us come up with a list of products or activities we could use for our NPI.
However, my group needs to improve on a few things for next week. The main thing we need to improve is to be able to get straight to the point and then move on. At first my group didn’t understand what we actually had to do for this assignment so we spent a lot of time trying to figure out what we had to do. We simply could have solved this problem by asking Ms King if she could help us. Overall, if my group can do this (get straight to the point and then move on) next week, our future tasks completed quicker.
The only thing I learnt this week was about many of the NPI’s. Since I didn’t know a lot about many of the NPI’s Angela and Michelle chose, I took it apon myself to find out. I learnt numerous things about each of the NPI’s.
My group got along pretty fine but we did have a few arguments here and there.I will admit I was in some of the arguments but luckly the arguments were solved over time. Next week I would really like to get a lot more work done. I would also like there to be less argue in my group. As I discovered, when we argued we wasted very variable time!

Information on the AWL! ! !
Since my group is doing the AWL, it condered to me that I really don't know much about the AWL. So, I decided to got find some information about who the AWL are and what the AWL do!
The Animal Welfare League of Qld takes care of approximately 12,000 strayed and abandoned animals annually from the Gold Coast and surrounding areas. The AWL receives no Federal or State Government funding for welfare work, relying predominantly on the community for financial support.
The AWL specialises in the care, shelter, and rehoming of dogs and cats. Since 1959, the AWL has opened its doors and hearts to all companion animals in need. As well as providing on-site care at its’ two Rehoming Centre’s, the AWL has a fostering and rehabilitation program that is second to none. AWL also works closely with the Gold Coast City Council in providing the best of care for stray animals during their impound period, with all unclaimed animals then transferring to the AWL for rehoming.
As well as a high focus on rehoming, the AWL continues to increase community awareness about how to end the tragedy of pet overpopulation. Our goal is to bring an end to the euthanasia of healthy animals in Australia through legislative changes, education and awareness. The AWL cannot continue its welfare work, caring for the communities homeless animals without the financial support of the community. The direct costs involved in the rehoming of each animal are approximately $400.00. This cost does not include the support staff that maintain the organisation, allowing the AWL to keep its doors open, or the veterinary clinics, which provide charitable veterinary care to the public.
The Animal Welfare League exists to:
- Find safe and happy homes with responsible guardians for as many abandoned cats and dogs as possible
- Achieve zero euthanasia of all healthy & treatable cats and dogs
- Prevent the birth of unwanted kittens and puppies
- Improve humans’ attitudes toward all animals through education
- Improve the living conditions and treatment of animals in shelters and pounds
- Find a positive solution for unowned cats
- Raise the value of animals in society so that the intrinsic needs of each species are recognized, respected and met
Our Values
We believe that by working in harmony with integrity, optimism, initiative and innovation, we will achieve respect for all animals according to their individual needs and nature.
We Believe:
- Each and every life is valuable
- Zero euthanasia of healthy and treatable companion animals is achievable
- Cruelty is unacceptable
- All animals deserve kind treatment
- Every cat and dog born has a right to live happily in a loving, responsible home
After reading this information I now have a better understanding about the AWL. I now know their values, their purpose and some background information about the AWL. This will be loads of help for my assignment.

Fundraising Techniques
AWL techniques that they use:
- Website
- Bins where pet necessaries are donated in shopping centres such as COLES
- Money donation
- Selling AWL merchandise
Our ideas of techniques:
Website: RSVP, a type of site that matches humans with animals (AWL Pets Matching Service)Radio Campaign: Radios companies like:
- Sea Fm
- Gold FM
- Hot tomato
- 97.3 FM
- B 105End
Product:
- AWL Pet Matching Service; for people to the type of animals that will suite their lifestyle and what type of pet they should get.
o Blogger, Animal welfare blog and make quiz on quizilla
o Or make a new website.
- Radio Campaign; songs that may be suitable for radio:
o You found me by The Fray
o How to save a life By The Fray
These are some ideas that my group came up with. First we found out what techniques the AWL already use then we compared then with some of our own ideas. After we were happy with the list of techniques we could use, we discussed on which product would be best suited to help the AWL. We came up with some ideas but we are still not sure if we will use all of them.
